The LORD Jesus left us with a solemn promise that He has overcomed the world for us, so when we face those intimidating, painful, disappointing, challenging, or situations that seem insurmontable, causing heartaches and sorrow, we should remember that He's still on the throne of our lives, fighting our battles.
Exodus 14:14(KJV) "The LORD shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.”
The outcome of the battle is already determined to our advantage, but this will only be, when we hand the battle over to the Him to fight for us, and keep our peace, because our mind is stayed focused on Him, who's the Prince of Peace!
The same scripture in the (Amplified) version says: "The Lord will fight for you while you [only need to] keep silent and remain calm." When things happen, we're tempted to get in there and get them a piece of our mind, defend ourselves, let them know we're not going let them disrespect, and disregard us, but the LORD's asking us to keep silent and remain calm, in doing so, He's able to adequately judge justly on our behalf.
"Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave the way open for God’s wrath [and His judicial righteousness]; for it is written [in Scripture], “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says the Lord. "- Romans 12:19
My dear brothers & sisters, leave the way open for God's wrath. He knows the past, the present, and the future, so He knows how to use all of these to work in your favour.
Gideon was feeling anxious about taking three hundred men to fight against the strong and mighty Midianite army, but God strategical positioned him to overhear an enemy soldier recounting his frightful dream about their defeat by the Isrealities. This unlikely circumstance gave Gideon all the assurance that he needed to go to battle with three hundred men, knowing that the LORD God is at work and fighting the battle to give them victory.
The LORD is still doing the same today for you and I. We should rest in the promises given to us in His Word and let Him fight and avenge us according to His Word.
